Fashion during quarantine


For this last subject, we have chosen to proceed in the form of a survey. Surveys allow information to be collected directly from users. It was an opportunity for us to write an article thanks to direct answers and opinions from consumers. The subject that we have decided to choose is around the new practice of fashion during the quarantine. Indeed, we noticed via our own behaviors where even those of our close relations that our dress codes had suddenly changed in this pandemic period. Indeed, we are turning much more towards so-called comfortable clothes. In addition, we also noticed that the turnover of some brands like adidas had increased sharply with there tap dance sales or the jogging sale of many brands. However we needed to know if this new fashion was related to social networks or did it not have a place on it?


We chose to conduct a short survey composed of 10 questions to allow the respondent to remain involved and focus on it.


The survey was administered online under the name «fashion with social media during quarantine», via the platform google forms. We chose this platform because it is easy to use. Indeed, it has no binding conditions either for the creator or the interrogator. The survey was therefore practical to implement and just as practical to complete.


The questions we have asked are one-choice. They can only be answered with a yes or no. That allowed us to have a categorical answer. But we do have a question that has several answers, and that’s the question, “Are you making an effort just to get on the networks?” and the proposed answers are: yes, from time to time, no. We knew that this question should offer several answers so that people “admit” that they “lie” on social networks. This allowed the interviewee not to be locked up in a less nuanced choice.


In total, we got 54 answers, and with them we were able to get an opinion on our problem: The answer is that yes, social networks had an impact on fashion during quarantine.Overall, the majority agreed that social networks play a role in how they dress. For example: “Do you think social networks influence fashion?” 93.3% of people said yes. Also for the question: Did your clothing habits change during quarantine? 80% said yes.This confirms our idea that we were made from the beginning..




Indeed, the answers obtained were generally quite predictable insofar as we are ourselves four young women present on social networks. Indeed, if we decided to take an interest in this theme of the influence of social networks on fashion, it is above all because we are immersed in it and we wanted to understand the subject more. We launched our blog at the time of the quarantine because the influence was all the greater that it was the only way to understand fashion. It was therefore obvious to us whether this period had changed the habits of connected people. The survey only confirmed what we thought.


To conclude, we can see that confinement changed a lot of things in our minds. Of course, people act differently. Like we said previously, social had a huge impact of the future in a lot of brands. In fact, during the quarantine, the generation Z or even the millenials passed a lot more hours on social media and this is normal. So, during the quarantine, brands  must to be on social media. Manon said that 80% of the test respond yes to the question : did your clothing habits change during quarantine ?. Of course, during quarantine, you didn’t need to dress yourself, you had to put comfortable clothes. It is why a lot a brands who sale joggings, slaps or even yoga pants expanded. Finally, we can show that today, social media can influence at any time, even during quarantine, the world of fashion.
